Can a Canadian citizen own and operate a small/medium size business in US?
Can a Canadian citizen own and operate a small/medium size business in US? My wife is being offered a position at her current employer’s head office in Dallas. Will I be able to work or operate a small business?
Thousands of Canadian citizens own and operate businesses in the U.S. The majority of them have green cards (permanent resident visas). Some would be in the L-1, Intra-Company Transferee, classification. Some are in the E-1 or E-2 classifications which are for Treaty Traders and Treaty Investors. (Search Yahoo for more data)
If your wife’s visa classification permits her spouse to work, then you could work. For example, if your wife is an L-1, you would be an L-2, and you could apply for employment authorization, and then you could operate a business in the U.S.
It sounds like your wife may be classifiable as an L-1. If that is the case, you could be an L-2. You need to tell us what visa classification your wife is going to be in. If it’s L-1, you’re in good shape. If it’s H-1B, you’re in bad shape because spouses of H-1Bs cannot work.

How to measure your ball cap size and never get a bad fit again
Have you ever been curious about how to accurately fit or size a baseball hat? Choosing the right size for your hat is an easy thing and not something you should be nervous about. Read our 4 easy steps below and you will have learned everything you need to know about hat measuring! Never again worry about dropping your hard earned cash on a fitted cap that does not fit right on your head.
Step 1: To determine your hat size, measure your head with a tape measure or string ruler a half-inch or so above your eyebrows (where your hat should lay). If you don’t have a tape measure, use a string or cord and measure it against a ruler yard stick.
Step 2: If you are unsure which size to choose, or you measure in between sizes, we suggest buying the larger size. It is a good idea to choose the larger size because a hat is liable to shrink a bit during normal every day use and as a result from routine washing. Purchasing a smaller sized hat may result in a much to tight cap once this normal shrinking happens.
Step 3: When buying a fitted cap, it is necessary to know your head size. If you are buying an adjustable cap, you do not need to measure your head.
